About PaperFoam®

Sustainability is always a work in progress, and at Half Magic we are constantly searching for new materials and innovation that can help us tread more lightly on the planet.  We are excited to be the first beauty brand to introduce PaperFoam® in use as primary packaging.  

PaperFoam® is a sturdy, lightweight, and biodegradable material created with industrial potato starch and molded cellulose.  Most commonly associated with electronics, pharmaceuticals, and the ubiquitous egg carton, this material is both home compostable and curbside recyclable with paper goods.  

We aim to make sustainable packaging fun, functional and thoughtful and hope you love our new PaperFoam®compacts as much as we do. Our hope is that these ultra-lightweight, earthy-friendly compacts can help shift the industry’s mindset on what we deem luxe and become a beauty industry staple.

How to Compost or Recycle:

To recycle or home compost the PaperFoam® compacts, remove the pan by peeling off the label and inserting the tip of a pen through the bottom of the compact. Make sure to remove any excess glue from the compact. Recycle the now-empty compact or simply place it in your home compost bin.
